Real Estate 3rd Installment Due

Louisa A. Ewert, Rock Island County Treasurer, announces the third installment of Real Estate tax is due on Thursday, September 5th, 2019.
Payments not paid or postmarked by the above date will accrue a 1.5% penalty per month. Learn more.....


2019 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program

Moline, Rock Island, and Rock Island County law enforcement agencies are eligible to submit a joint application for a total of $26,403.00 to be awarded through the JAG program. The 2019 Allocations and Disparate Information listing published by the Department of Justice specified an award level of $14,906.00 for the City of Moline and $11,497.00 for the City of Rock Island. Rock Island County is listed as a disparate jurisdiction entitled to request a share of the award. Staff from the each agency recommends that $2,640.30 be allocated to the County for its Computer Replacement Program, $10,347.30 to the City of Rock Island for its Police Officer Personnel Project, and $13,415.40 to the City of Moline for its Less Lethal Weapon Deployment Project. The proposed application information will be placed on the August 14th Committee of the Whole and August 20nd County Board meeting agendas.

Chief Judge Walter D. Braud and NBC newsman Lester Holt appear in a Video, “YOU THE JUROR”. This Video was made in a Justice Center Courtroom in Rock Island County on Christmas Eve, 2017. Jury Service is a privilege and high honor. The purpose of this Video is to help Jurors understand their duties and Court proceedings. The 14th Judicial Circuit has the Illinois Counties of Henry, Mercer, Rock Island and Whiteside. 300,000 people strong, our 22 Judges handle 50,000 cases per year. Many are jury trials.     Civil War Soldiers' Monument Restoration Project

    The Rock Island County Sheriff’s Department, in conjunction with the Rock Island County Historical Society and the Civil War Roundtable of the Quad Cities, are in the process of raising funds for a restoration project.
