- Rock Island County is pleased to offer two (2) $1,000 scholarships to graduating Seniors from Rock Island County High Schools:
This is a four (4) year, renewable scholarship. Award will be made to applicants who will attend Black Hawk College or Western Illinois University with plans to major in public administration or government. Relatives of Elected Officials of Rock Island County are not eligible for this scholarship.
All items must be included in one envelope, with a postmark no later than June 1st, 2008. Submission may be hand delivered, but must be submitted no later than 4:30 p.m. on June 1st, 2008. Click here to download the scholarship application with a more detailed listing of requirements.

The Rock Island County Recorder's Office wants to help residents by offering a "free" online subscription service that will alert them whenever their name is used in recording activity within that office. | - Township Assessors are now reviewing assessments for 2008. Visit your township assessor if you have any questions about the value of your property.
| - Monday, May 26th, 2008 - County Offices Closed in observance of Memorial Day.
| - Friday, May 9th, 2008: Louise A. Kerr, Rock Island County Treasurer, announces the mailing of 63,438 Rock Island County Real Estate tax bills totaling more than $196,026,000.00. Every year the tax bills are a different color. This year's color is "pink shaded". Four stubs are provided for those taxpayers using the four installment plan. Due dates this year will be June 12th, August 12th, September 12th and November 12th. Rock Island County is the only County in Illinois that allows tax payments to be made in four installments.
Ms. Kerr would also like to announce the mailing of 1,815 Rock Island County Mobile Home Tax bills totaling $134,000.00. They will be due July 11th, 2008.
