2017 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program

Moline, Rock Island and Rock Island County law enforcement agencies are eligible to submit a joint application for a total of $26,717.00 to be awarded through the JAG program. The 2017 Allocations and Disparate Information listing published by the Department of Justice specified an award level of $12,356.00 for the City of Moline and $14,361.00 for the City of Rock Island. Rock Island County is listed as a disparate jurisdiction entitled to request a share of the award. Staff from each agency recommends that $2,671.70 be allocated to the County for its Courthouse/ Annex Facility Security Enhancement Project, $12,924.90 to the City of Rock Island for its Police Officer Personnel Project, and $11,120.40 to the City of Moline for it’s Patrol Rifle Program. The proposed application information will be placed on the August 9th Committee of the Whole and August 22nd County Board meeting agendas.  
 

Disaster Area Reassessments

    Civil War Soldiers' Monument Restoration Project

    The Rock Island County Sheriff’s Department, in conjunction with the Rock Island County Historical Society and the Civil War Roundtable of the Quad Cities, are in the process of raising funds for a restoration project.
